THE only thing a serious-minded celebrity likes exercising more than their superiority is their leftie credentials. The A-list have been elbowing each other out of the way to get to screenings of Michael Moore's controversial new documentary, despite the lack of decent swag (that's Hollywood-ese for freebies).

Even better than this undignified display of cinema-seat envy are the pronouncements made by the stars as they enter and leave the theatre.

At Leicester Square it was apparently up to Bianca Jagger to formulate the celebrity ideology, saying the film should make people realise they "shouldn't vote for Bush again". Gosh, and we thought she was only there because she was once related to someone really, really famous (her ex is Rolling Stone Mick).

Thank goodness, then, for Peter O'Toole who in the midst of all of this ranting, was asked what he knew about the film. The honest to goodness reply? "Not a sausage."
